I often did photography for the Dance Theater of Harlem. This particular image was selected for the 30th Anniversary of the company. Part of their PR campaign was to decorate the interiors of New York subways. Every time I rode the subways and saw my pictures, I wanted to tell the passengers, "Those are my shots.". But I refrained. Barely!
